Alfred Bester’s Gimmick Books

Here is an interesting find for writers and otherwise interested people.

Alfred Bester’s Gimmick books, apparently he had books where he would write ideas and snippets, facts into. As a writer i find this idea quite fascinating and i’d suggest anyone who writes to consider doing this.

You might write down interesting dialogue, jokes, funny happenings. How does this kind of book differ from a journal you might ask? I would say that a gimmick book is more freeform. I already write down my novel and short story ideas but this expands on that to a larger scale.
